A water main break flooded parts of Kendall on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened along Southwest 97th Street and 117th Avenue, closing a portion of the roadway.
Local 10 News obtained cellphone video from a viewer who was recording while ankle deep in the water.
Miami-Dade’s Water and Sewer Department had nine work trucks at the scene who were working to repair the damage.
Jennifer Messemer, a public information officer with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, told Local 10 News that a private contractor struck a 16-inch water line, which caused the flood.
She said crew members were able to shut off the water and are working to make repairs.
Neighbors say Bortek Utility was installing 5G lines and likely hit the water line when they were working.
Residents told Local 10 News this has upset them because they claim Borek Utility did not advise the county about the planned installation of the line, which they believe is required.
According to Messimer, no one was ever without water and a boil water was not issued following the incident.
Miami-Dade Water and Sewer officials said the repairs were made around 7:30 p.m.
No other details were immediately released by city officials.
