Aerial videos show Calle Ocho revelers in Miami, spring breakers in South Beach

MIAMI – Police officers in Miami and Miami Beach were busy watching over crowds looking to have a good time on Sunday.

Carnaval Miami closed over a dozen blocks of Eighth Street for seven stages from Southwest 12 to to 27 avenues for the Calle Ocho Music Festival in Miami’s Little Havana.

Tourists took over South Beach during the first weekend of spring break, which was calmer than usual. Police officers lined up patrol cars along Ocean Drive on Lummus Park.

Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner had the support of Gov. Ron DeSantis, so Florida Highway Patrol troopers were assisting the Miami Beach Police Department.
