SWAT officers surround Hialeah home after man barricades self

No injuries or arrests reported following incident

HIALEAH, Fla. – A tense standoff unfolded in Hialeah early Thursday morning as heavily armed SWAT teams descended on a residential area following reports of a man barricading himself inside a house, authorities said.

Sky 10 flew over the scene early Friday morning where SWAT team members and Hialeah police surrounded the home off East 17th Street.

Neighbors mentioned that the individuals living in the home may have rented their driveway to someone residing in an RV. Authorities are investigating this aspect further.

Efforts to speak with the homeowners were unsuccessful. No injuries were reported among those inside the home or the officers involved as of Friday evening.

Despite several hours of attempted communication, the man remained inside the house without making any threats, leaving the reasons for his self-imposed isolation unclear.

As police continued to maintain the scene, portions of East Sixth Avenue remained closed to the public until the situation was resolved.

No arrests have been made at this time.
