HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police are asking for the public’s help as they look for a hit-and-run driver responsible for killing a man riding a scooter early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened just before 5 a.m. in the area of Pembroke and South Park roads.
Police said the suspect, driving west on Pembroke Road, hit the victim from behind, throwing him from the scooter. He or she didn’t stop.
Video released by the Hollywood Police Department on Wednesday shows the suspect’s vehicle, believed to be a white Honda Civic with dark tints, appear as a quick flash down Pembroke Road, moving from left to right in the frame.
In a news release, HPD spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi said the vehicle should have damage to its hood, front passenger-side bumper and passenger-side mirror.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim.
