HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Keyana Monique Pitaluga was all smiles when jailers took her Broward County booking photo, but she’s facing a serious felony charge after Hollywood police said she purposely hit a pedestrian with her SUV in a Target parking lot.

Pitaluga was arrested Friday on a warrant in connection with the February incident. According to arrest documents released Tuesday, Fort Lauderdale police pulled her over for having an expired tag.

According to the warrant, the victim told police that as she, her sister and a friend were walking to the entrance of Target at 3251 Hollywood Blvd. on the morning of Feb. 11, a woman in a black SUV, later identified as Pitaluga, “became impatient.”

Police said the 34-year-old, who had a young child in the front seat, was upset that the group was “walking to(o) slow in the roadway and she wanted to pass them.”

The woman’s sister said Pitaluga honked and yelled, “Get out the f---ing way before I hit y’all” at the group and the woman and her sister began to argue with her, the warrant states.

Police said surveillance video shows Pitaluga driving towards the victim from behind, causing her to stumble and drop her purse. The woman was unhurt but said she wished to press charges.

Pitaluga, who lives in the unincorporated Roosevelt Gardens section of central Broward County, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and later released from jail on a $50,000 bond, online records show.
