Upon arrival, authorities learned that an 18-year-old man was driving his vehicle when he heard what he thought was a rock, hit his car.

As the man exited the car to monitor the area, he saw several subjects hiding in bushes nearby while one fled on a golf cart and the others remained at the scene, according to BSO.

After the unknown subject called his accomplices to return, the victim jumped on the back of the golf cart.

Authorities said at that time, deputies said the driver of the golf cart drove aggressively, attempting the throw the victim from the golf cart.

Simultaneously, two subjects on the golf cart began repeatedly punching the victim and, during the incident, stole personal property from the victim, according to detectives.

Eventually, the victim fell off the golf cart and the subjects fled the scene, deputies said.

The following day, authorities said a 15-year-old male and his guardian arrived at the BSO’s Parkland district office to collect his cellphone and ID left behind at the crime scene.

At that time, BSO detectives arrested the teen on charges of aggravated battery, felony criminal mischief and grand theft. investigators said.

According to detectives, the teen suspect admitted throwing rocks and eggs at cars approximately six times and that he did it “not to hurt anyone, just for fun.”

The victim suffered multiple injuries in the attack, and his vehicle sustained thousands of dollars in damage, according to BSO.

Authorities confirmed other subjects involved in the incident are being sought.

Detectives have not released the identity of the teen suspect involved in the attack.

Anyone with information on the incident or the identities of the other subjects involved is asked to call BSO Detective Robert Rutkowski at (754) 240-6953 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
