BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Humane Society of Broward County joined Local 10 News Saturday in continuing its search to find loving, permanent homes for pets.
HSBC’s Vice President of Marketing Cherie Wachter introduced 1-year-old Alana to Local 10 viewers.
Alana is 22 pounds and could be mixed with Whippet and Jack Russell Terrier.
Wachter doesn’t expect Alana to gain a lot of weight and says a “firecracker” could be a good way to describe her.
Alana doesn’t know how to walk on a leash so her new owner would have to train her.
Wachter said Alana should get along with kids and having another dog to entertain her would make an easier transition.
The HSBC said the application to adopt an animal only takes five minutes to complete and future owners are encouraged to schedule a meet and greet.
Wachter also introduced Boone, who is also up for adoption.
Boone is a 4-year-old Australian cattle dog who is potty trained and gets along well with others.
The HSBC also announced their “Adopt a Sweetheart” program where owners will be able to adopt a dog 1 year and up at half price until 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
There are many more dogs, cats, rabbits and furry friends up for adoption at the Humane Society of Broward County.
Seligman confirmed HSBC has reached over $475,000 in donations for their annual Walk for the Animals event, which is 97% of their goal of $495,000.
Donations are still being accepted for the next several weeks. Click here for more information or scan the QR code above.
