MIAMI – An investigation into nearly three dozen images and videos depicting child sexual abuse uploaded to a Miami man’s Google account led officers to find a disturbing series of clips on his phone, showing the abuse of girls as young as 6, according to an arrest report.
The Miami Police Department report states that the investigation into Bernis Vargas-Torres, 23, began in April 2023 after 34 files of child sexual abuse material were uploaded to his Google account.

Authorities went to his home in the Shenandoah neighborhood Wednesday after obtaining a search warrant, and provided graphic descriptions of 10 child sexual abuse videos that appeared on his phone, the report states.
The girls in the videos were between the ages of 6 and 8 and were being raped or otherwise sexually abused by men, police said.
Authorities arrested Vargas-Torres on 10 child pornography charges and a Miami-Dade judge gave him a $50,000 bond.
The Nicaraguan national remained in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold, according to jail records.
