Miami-Dade man accused of biting daughter’s face in front of police

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A northwest Miami-Dade man called police Wednesday asking if he could punish his 14-year-old daughter for her “bad behavior,” according to an arrest report. Police said after officers arrived, he bit her.

The Miami-Dade police report states that officers responded to the home of Gerald Thelusme, located in the 10800 block of Northwest 10th Avenue in the county’s Pinewood area, after getting called sometime before 2:30 p.m.

The report states that as officers were trying to separate the two, Thelusme, 59, became “upset,” grabbed the girl by the head and bit her in the cheek, drawing blood.

Police said the entire incident was captured on officers’ body cameras and Thelsume confessed to the crime.

He was arrested on a charge of child abuse causing no great bodily harm and remained held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond as of Thursday.
