Fort Lauderdale family reunited with French bulldogs stolen from their backyard

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A pair of Frenchies that were stolen from a family’s backyard in Fort Lauderdale have finally come home.

Earlier this month Local 10 News reported on the emotional support dogs that were swiped from the backyard of a home along the 400 block of Northwest 15th Way

Surveillance video showed what appeared to be two men throwing the two pricey French bulldogs, Brownie and Luna, over the fence.

“These two weeks I got really hurt, stressed out,” said Yoanis Montejo. My wife crying every day, my son crying every day, so. I was broken inside”

The family said shortly after their story aired on Local 10, their phone would not stop ringing.

Local 10 News viewers began reaching out with clues of where the beloved animals might be.

Finally, over the weekend, one tip lead them to a home off of Fort Lauderdale’s Northwest Eighth Street and 11th Avenue.

When they arrived, they said the door of the home was open and they could see the dogs.

They called the police, and soon after the family had their beloved pups back.

The family was offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to their dogs return, but the Local 10 News viewer who called with the right tip refused to take the money.

Fort Lauderdale police have yet charge anyone in the case.

The family says the people who had Brownie and Luna said someone sold them the dogs.
