Man injured after being shot inside convenience store in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating after authorities said a man was shot inside a convenience store in northwest Miami-Dade on Tuesday.

It happened just before noon at Mamy Quick Stop located at 5100 Northwest 23rd Avenue, near the county’s Gladeview area.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed a man was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

“There were two men arguing and I heard the sound of arguing and multiple gunshots,” said one woman who asked not to be identified. “He (the victim) was conscious because he was talking. He wasn’t bleeding out, but he was bleeding inside.”

The woman recorded first responders transporting the injured man to the hospital.

“When it stopped, I looked and seen someone ride off then saw the man on the ground,” she said. “He lifted his shirt and he was shot.”

Police have not released any information on the man’s age or condition.

Sky 10 flew over the scene where crime scene investigators were interviewing people in the area.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
