Fort Lauderdale police issue warning to public after vehicle burglaries

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ Fort Lauderdale police are warning people to remove valuables from their vehicles following some recent break-ins.

Police released surveillance video Wednesday night that shows two vehicle burglaries involving a man riding a bicycle.

Itā€™s unclear, however, whether the same man was involved in both incidents or whether police are searching for two men who both happened to be riding a bicycle at the time of the burglaries.

In the first part of the video, a man is seen breaking into a red Jeep and throwing a large item taken from the vehicle over some bushes.

Another part of the video shows a man using a flashlight to look into a blue car before smashing the front-passenger-seat window and grabbing a white bag.

Anyone with information about the vehicle burglaries is asked to call the Fort Lauderdale Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
