Arrest made after shooting in Palmetto General Hospital parking lot

Shooting victim walked into emergency room, police say

HIALEAH, Fla. – Police responded to a Hialeah hospital on Tuesday night after receiving reports of a shooting.

Palmetto General Hospital was placed on a lockdown as a result.

According to police, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the hospital.

Several Miami-Dade and Hialeah police vehicles could be observed outside the hospital following the shooting.

According to police, a man entered the hospital’s emergency room at approximately 7:50 p.m. after being shot.

That man is receiving treatment, police said, but they did not provide any information on the severity of his injury.

On Wednesday morning, police confirmed that an arrest had been made.

No other details were immediately released.
