1 killed, 1 injured in Lauderhill double shooting

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Lauderhill police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, the police department received a call for service around 3:35 a.m. in a parking lot located in the 4500 block of North University Drive.

Police said officers arrived and found a man who had been shot multiple times lying on the ground unresponsive.

He was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died. Police later identified him as 34-year-old Christopher Matthew Fletcher.

Police said they received a call shortly after about a Black man who had arrived at Florida Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury.

No other details were immediately released.
