BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Kimyah Lia Henderson was 25 years old when she drove drunk in Broward County in 2020 and slammed into a turning Hyundai, killing its passenger, deputies say.
Three-and-a-half years later, she’s now facing vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter charges.

Henderson, now 28, was arrested by Fort Lauderdale police and booked into the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Paul Rein Detention Facility on Monday.
According to a BSO arrest warrant, the Plantation woman had a blood alcohol content of 0.16%, twice the legal limit, following the June 22, 2020 crash.
It happened at around 2:45 that morning in the 1200 block of Northwest 31st Avenue in the Roosevelt Gardens section of unincorporated central Broward County.
According to the warrant, vehicle data showed that Henderson was driving her 2005 Toyota Camry at 87 mph in a 35 mph zone seconds before the crash, slowing down to 67 mph just before impact, killing the passenger in the turning 2016 Hyundai Elantra.
Deputies didn’t identify the victim, who died at Broward Health Medical Center, in the warrant. Henderson was also hurt in the crash.
Henderson remained behind bars Tuesday morning on a $100,000 bond, according to BSO jail records.
