Victim found shot to death near Miami Gardens school was 17, source confirms

Victim had been reported missing out of Miramar, according to source

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A law enforcement source confirmed to Local 10 News Tuesday that a male victim who was found shot to death Monday morning near an elementary school in Miami Gardens was just 17 years old.

He has been identified as Brandon Gordon, a student who attended Everglades High School in Miramar.

Authorities confirmed that officers responded to a pedestrian bridge in the 2900 block of Northwest 166th Street just after 7:30 a.m. Monday.

The bridge is located near Golden Glades Elementary School.

According to Miami Gardens police initial report, a Black juvenile male victim was found on the ground on the bridge with a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Authorities said the victim was visiting the area.

Investigators said they do not have any information on the shooter at this time.
