Police looking for serial groper targeting women in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Multiple women are reporting being attacked by a man who’s groping them while they are jogging in southwest Miami-Dade.

They say he strikes on Sunday mornings, targeting women who are exercising, and word is quickly spreading.

Another victim came forward after the latest crime was caught on surveillance camera.

The victim was exercising in the area of Southwest 64th Street and 109th Avenue on Sunday as an unknown man follows her closely from behind.

The man is shirtless because he’s using that shirt to cover his face as he grabs the victim’s buttocks.

The man quickly took off and as police responded to that scene, another woman called to report she just had an encounter with the same exact man.

“I don’t know where he came from, I don’t know if he was parked anywhere,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified. “I did not see him at all prior to that.”

That victim had been exercising along the Snapper Creek Trail and was blocks away from her home when she said the shirtless man jogged past her, stopped a few feet in front of her, and quickly turned around to charge in her direction.

“I was almost home,” she said. “(He) runs to me. Reaches out as he’s, like, moaning sexually. I jump into the street at that point and run.”

She sprinted home and told her husband before deciding she needed to call the police.

Local 10 News has identified several posts and messages alleging similar incidents, involving separate victims in the area.

One resident shared surveillance video of an alleged incident that happened the Sunday prior, on Jan. 28.

A young man is seen driving up and parking near a tree. He waits until a woman walks by and quickly gets out of his car to walk in her direction near Southwest 58th Terrace and 109th Avenue.

Moments later, the man runs back and appears to hide behind a bush and fence.

Neighbors told Local 10 News it was another similar incident after speaking with that victim and her family shortly after it happened.

Residents have described both a dark-colored vehicle and a white vehicle spotted in the area during the incidents.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
