MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that was reported Monday morning near an elementary school in Miami Gardens.
Authorities confirmed that officers responded to a pedestrian bridge in the 2900 block of Northwest 166th Street just after 7:30 a.m.
The bridge is located near Golden Glades Elementary School.
According to Miami Gardens police, a Black juvenile male victim was found on the ground on the bridge with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Authorities said the victim, who has yet to be identified by police, was visiting South Florida.
Investigators said they do not have any information on the shooter at this time.
