MIAMI – After refusing to comply with a traffic stop and getting away from police officers, an 18-year-old woman who was driving without a license crashed into two cars in Miami — injuring five people, according to police.
Genesis Bardales has been at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center since Jan. 15. She has two cases open and appeared in Miami-Dade County bond court on Thursday.

Bardales was driving a white 2019 Hyundai that Sweetwater police had reported stolen, according to police. She was speeding northbound and ran a red traffic light, police said.
The three-vehicle crash was at about 4:10 p.m., on Jan. 14, at the intersection of Northwest Second Avenue and 54 Street, according to an arrest report in the case.
The Hyundai first struck the passenger side of a Honda and then crashed into the driver’s side of a Jeep. Two of the Hyundai’s passengers were injured.
Fire rescue personnel took a woman and a man to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. The woman suffered head trauma and was in the intensive care unit. The man lost consciousness and suffered a leg injury. Fire rescue treated the other three victims at the scene of the crash.
Bardales is facing two counts of reckless driving causing bodily injury, and one count of grand theft of a vehicle. She also has a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
