Video shows traffic stop with Israeli consul’s son accused of injuring police officer in Miami-Dade

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – There is evidence that 19-year-old Avraham Gil, whose father Eli Gil is an Israeli consul, has had run-ins with police officers before.

Police body cam video shows a traffic stop on Dec. 31 in Miami Shores. A police officer said Avraham had committed several traffic offenses.

On Saturday, police officers said Avraham Gil ran over a police officer in Sunny Isles Beach.

Cops say the officer told Avraham Gil to stop, but he didn’t listen.

This landed Gil in jail on charges of aggravated battery against a police officer. Gil has consular immunity, according to his defense.

The officer is still out of work due to his injuries and questions persist in legal circles about whether immunity applies to a diplomat’s son.
