MIAMI – A 35-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a fatal shooting last week in the city of Miami, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Jail records show Yanais Almeida was arrested Sunday on a charge of first-degree murder/robbery.

As of Tuesday morning, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, awaiting a bond court hearing.

The shooting was reported at 6:23 a.m. Thursday at an apartment building, located at 4271 NW S. Tamiami Canal Dr.

“My friend called me this morning, said there was a body outside of her room,” one man told Local 10′s Annaliese Garcia last week.

Miami police Officer Kiara Delva, who is a spokeswoman for the police department, said officers arrived at the scene and found one person who had been shot.

“Once officers arrived on scene, they did locate an adult Hispanic male suffering from gunshot wounds,” she said.

Delva said the victim, later identified as Stefan Iglesias, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he had been discovered laying facedown on the ground in a pool of blood with a gun nearby.

According to Almeida’s arrest report, surveillance video shows the victim walking into the parking lot with her before the victim shoots at another suspect in the parking lot.

A third suspect then appears from “a concealed position on the opposite side of the parking lot and began chasing after and shooting at the victim,” the arrest report stated.

Police said the victim was shot in the neck and collapsed.

According to the report, Almeida and one of the other suspects were injured in the shootout and were dropped off at Coral Gables Hospital. They were then transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Almeida wasn’t taken into custody, however, until Saturday when she and one of the other suspects, were pulled over in their car and taken to the police station for questioning.

Police said she acknowledged that the suspect she was found with is her boyfriend.

She was booked into jail on Sunday morning.

While robbery appears to be the motive behind the shooting, police did not elaborate in the arrest report about what exactly the suspects were targeting.

It’s unclear whether any other arrests have been made.
