According to his arrest report, one of two victims was meeting with an unidentified man around 2 a.m. Dec. 27 at an apartment building at 1424 NE Miami Place.
Police said the man and three other males, including Morno, showed up to the apartment building wearing masks and hoodies to cover their faces.
According to the report, the victim allowed the group inside the apartment unit, but just seconds after being let in, one of the offenders pulled out a gun, pointed it at a second victim who was sitting in the kitchen area and said, “Take it off. Give me that s***!” -- referring to the victim’s gold chain and watch.
Police said the first victim then made a “sudden movement,” leading to one of the offenders shooting him in the lower back.
All four offenders then ran out of the apartment.
According to the report, surveillance video obtained from the hallway of the apartment building shows Morno running away with a gun in his right hand.
Police said his face can be clearly seen in the footage.
The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Morno was located Thursday and transported to the Miami Central Station for questioning.
His arrest report stated that some kind of admission was made to detectives, however his statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
The report does not say why the victim was initially meeting up with one of the offenders.
As of Friday morning, Morno remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond had yet to be set.
