Video shows arrest of North Miami triple murder suspect

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Newly-released body camera footage shows the arrest of a triple murder suspect in North Miami in November.

The video shows officers arresting 33-year-old Pierce Hoempler.

According to police, the deadly triple shooting happened in the 12000 block of Northeast Fifth Avenue, just south of 123rd Street.

Relatives identified the victims as Hector, Frankie and Jeremy Rivera.

According to an arrest report, Hoempler got into physical fight with Hector Rivera and pinned him down on the lawn. When Hector’s sons came to his aid, police said Hoempler shot all three of them.

The third victim was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died.

Witnesses told Local 10 News that the suspect and victims were neighbors.

In the video, Hoempler attempts to make a self-defense claim.

As of Tuesday evening, Hoempler was remained held without bond in Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
