Students, family grieve 17-year-old shooting victim in Broward

Slain teen’s father: ‘If you know anything, come forward’

PLANTATION, Fla. – There were tears at a school and a park on Tuesday in Broward County.

A teenage boy was killed and three were injured during a shooting on Saturday night in a parking lot outside of Best Buy in Plantation.

Terrance Farrington Jr. was a student and football player at Youth Under Construction, a private school in Pompano Beach. He was 17.

“He always made me laugh, always been there for me, checking up on me, so it is real crazy what happened,” said student Bryce Simeon.

The teen’s grieving father, Terrance Farrington, was at Mitchell Moore Park when he said he went from being in disbelief to feeling devastated.

“He wanted to learn how to cut hair, go to barber school,” the father said about his first-born son.

Detectives were investigating the shooting.

“If you know anything come forward because you could be in the same spot that I am in right now,” the grieving father said.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
