BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Humane Society of Broward County joined Local 10 News Saturday in continuing its search to find loving, permanent homes for pets.
HSBC Vice President of Marketing Cherie Wachter introduced Valentine, a ferret, to Local 10 viewers.
Wachter said she didn’t have much information on Valentine’s past since she was brought in as a stray from another shelter.
She said that ferrets are very inquisitive, very cat-like, and do well in pairs.
Wachter said the adoption fee is $55 and informed viewers that ferrets come with a musky odor.
She added that ferrets need exercise and likes to burrow. She also said that ferrets tend to be more active at night.
Wachter also introduced Charlie to Local 10 News viewers.
Charlie is 4 years old, very active, and could be mixed with Labrador.
Charlie also gets along well with other dogs and would prefer an active owner that likes to play ball.
Wachter also said they have a lot of bigger breeds and older pets looking for their ‘furever’ home.
Wachter also spoke about the HSBC’s annual “Walk for the Animals” event where donations will go toward the well-being of animals looking for a home and any surgeries they may need.
