HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. – Police arrested a Hialeah Gardens man on a charge of lewd and lascivious battery Friday after they said that they received a call that he was “inappropriately touching random women,” grabbing one of them by her genitals.

Hialeah Gardens police were sent to the Samari Lakes condominium complex, located at 10000 NW 80th Court, just after 12:30 a.m., according to an arrest report.

The report states that the victim told police that “as she was walking to her apartment, she heard loud footsteps of someone running towards her from behind” and when she stopped to look back, the suspect “ran up to her, held her and aggressively grabbed her vagina area from the outside of her clothes and then ran away towards the building’s stairway.”

Police would later identify the suspect as another resident of the complex, Giraldo Gonzalez-Torres.

They said after the attack, the victim ran to a security officer, who called 911.

Another woman said she saw the 23-year-old watching her as she entered her apartment with her newborn child.

Police said they later located Gonzalez-Torres by the pool area and arrested him, taking him to Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

A judge hadn’t yet set his bond as of Friday afternoon, according to jail records.
