CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A Coral Springs man is facing three felony charges in Broward County court after police said he burglarized his ex-girlfriend’s home and vehicle and installed a series of recording devices to eavesdrop on her.
That’s according to court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Friday.

In an arrest warrant, a Coral Springs police detective wrote that Daniel Richard Walton Geiger, 38, was seen on at least 40 video clips from a neighboring residence entering and exiting his ex’s housing complex on multiple dates during the late night and early morning hours in August and September.
Police said Geiger’s ex became suspicious after their 5-year-old daughter told her that he was “listening to her on his laptop computer” and that “he has cameras all over their home.”
The warrant states that the woman never found any cameras, but, two weeks later, while cleaning her home, had two black devices fall out of her mattress after she lifted it.
According to police, Geiger placed the devices in a hole he had cut into the mattress.
The woman accessed the files via her own computer and heard her and her daughter’s voice and, the next day, found more devices throughout her home, totaling nine; police said she would later find another device inside her car.
The warrant states she changed the locks on her home and called police.
Authorities got a search warrant for Geiger’s home, vehicle, cellphone, keys and DNA and said they found one of the same types of devices in his home, containing a series of recordings.
Police said they also found a key to the victim’s home.
A number of the devices from the woman’s home were later found to be registered to Geiger’s email address, police said.
According to the warrant, the woman told police that Geiger had only been in her home once since 2020, when he sat at her kitchen table for 20 minutes.
Police arrested Geiger Monday on two felony burglary charges as well as a felony charge of unlawful interception of oral communications.
On Wednesday, a judge found probable cause in the case and ordered he have no contact with the victim. He was later released from jail on a $60,000 bond.
