Police: Woman suffering from mental disorder vanishes in Miami-Dade after hospital release

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – A 25-year-old woman vanished nearly a month ago in Miami-Dade County, and police officers are asking the public for help with finding her.

Tania Pender Charles — who is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighs about 220 lbs. — suffers from a mental disorder, according to the South Miami Police Department.

Larkin Community Hospital South Miami discharged her while wearing both a black shirt and black pants at about 5 p.m., on Dec. 21, and she wasn’t present when a shuttle arrived to take her home, police said.

Police officers asked anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 305-663-6302 or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
