BSO: Video shows pair beating man before fatally shooting him outside Broward tire shop

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A shooting outside a tire shop in Broward County left a man dead last Sunday and now detectives are looking for the culprits responsible.

Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 outside Express Tire Plus Inc, located at 2496 SW 57th Ave., in the county’s West Park neighborhood.

Upon their arrival, authorities said they located Serdjy Hyppolite, 23, of Sunrise, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics transported Hyppolite to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Detectives said Hyppolite was pronounced dead on Jan.9 due to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the incident began at a Marathon Gas Station, located at 5551 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in West Park, according to detectives.

Investigators believe an altercation occurred there between Hyppolite and two men.

Hyppolite was seen crashing into a pile of tires before the culprits exited their vehicle and approached him, according to BSO.

Detectives said one of the men was seen having a confrontation with Hyppolite, which eventually led to him being shot.

Additional surveillance video shows the victim on the ground while one of the men continued to hit Hyppolite repeatedly on the head before fleeing the area, according to investigators.

Detectives described the subjects’ vehicles as a silver 2016-2017 Honda Accord Sport.
