MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – The driver of a car was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday morning after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in Miami Lakes, authorities confirmed.
The crash was reported in the area of Northwest 158th Street and 57th Avenue.

According to Miami-Dade police, the driver of the car became trapped and he was extricated from the vehicle by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The driver was then airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No other details were immediately released.
