$10K reward offered in southwest Miami-Dade horse slaughter case

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers is partnering with the Homestead Rodeo Association in the search to bring the criminals who stole and butchered two horses to justice.

They are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Police say back on Jan. 2, two horses were stolen from a residential property in southwest Miami-Dade County and were slaughtered.

They were 10-year-old Muneco and 6-year-old Baby Doll.

Their carcasses were found yards away from their home, in the area of Southwest 168th Street, where police believe they were butchered for their meat.

Police said there is a market for the horse meat, but the fact of the matter is that selling and buying it violates Florida law.

Anyone with information that could help police find those responsible is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
