5-year-old grazed by bullet after car shot at in Plantation

PLANTATION, Fla. – A shooting in Broward County is under investigation after a mother and her child were shot at while driving.

It happened along the 6900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the 20-year-old mother was shot at multiple times while driving in her vehicle with her 5-year-old child, who was grazed by a bullet.

The child was taken to an area hospital with injuries described by authorities as serious but not-life-threatening.

Detectives are investigating and pursuing possible leads, but anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
