VIDEO: Miami police seek driver in Little Havana hit-and-run that seriously hurt cyclist

MIAMI – Miami police released surveillance video Friday of a December hit-and-run crash in the city’s Little Havana neighborhood as they seek to identify the suspect behind the wheel.

The crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the busy intersection of West Flagler Street and 27th Avenue.

The driver, police said, was headed south on 27th Avenue when he or she hit the cyclist crossing the street and left without checking on the victim, 49-year-old Zoinel Pavon Lopez.

Pavon Lopez remained in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital as of Friday.

Police released video of the suspect’s vehicle, which they described as a dark-colored SUV with possible damage to the driver’s side front.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
