HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – South Florida has been bracing for what’s on its way.
It’s the same system that has been blamed for a series of tornadoes ripping through the south, including the Florida Panhandle, where some homes were shredded and people were trapped.
The string of storms moving east is raising concerns in South Florida.
Broward County officials warned residents that there was a possibility of tornadoes overnight, and in Miami-Dade County, emergency crews alerted residents about the risk of downed power lines.
Along the Hollywood Broadwalk, locals were hoping there wouldn’t be a repeat from last November.
“It’s gonna get windy and I think the waves are going to come in,” said neighbor Bernie Nazer.
Recent storms have wreaked havoc in the area.
“We couldn’t even walk on the Broadwalk, it was really, really bad,” said Diane Walsh. “The last storm they did the barricades and that was really nice.”
