SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. – Last week’s fire at Tyreek Hill’s mansion in Southwest Ranches caused a whopping $2.3 million in damages, TMZ reported this week, citing an incident report.

According to the report, the fire also destroyed about $1 million worth of the Miami Dolphins wide receiver’s belongings.

A spokesperson for the Davie Fire Department told Local 10 News last week that investigators believe a child was playing with a lighter inside a bedroom at the home last Wednesday and started the blaze.

It’s unclear if the child is related to Hill or how exactly he or she was able to ignite the flames because officials identified the incident as “accidental” and said that no further investigations are taking place.

Authorities said everyone inside of the home was able to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported.

Hill was at Dolphins practice when the fire first broke out and, according to the team, left early to handle the issue.

Sky 10 was above the scene shortly before 2:30 p.m. Jan. 3 as firefighters were spotted on the roof of the mansion, located in the gated Landmark Ranch Estates development, as smoke was billowing from one side of the house.

Records show the home was purchased for $6.9 million in the summer of 2022.
