HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A 40-year-old man from Minnesota was booked into jail in Broward County over the weekend, nearly two years after he allegedly threatened to “shoot up” a dayclub/nightclub at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino where a woman he once dated worked, authorities said.
The name of the club was redacted from the suspect’s complaint affidavit.

According to the affidavit, the victim met with detectives from the Seminole Police Department’s Homeland Security Unit on March 3, 2022, and told them that Adam Hanson was an “acquaintance” of hers and threated to “shoot up” the club where she worked as a cocktail waitress.
Police said the woman claimed that Hanson had contacted her via Twitter in August 2019 after she appeared on season 7 of MTV’s “Are You The One?” and the two engaged in a long-distance relationship.
According to the affidavit, the woman said their relationship had its “ups and downs” and Hanson would help pay her bills.
But she said Hanson became more obsessed and possessive over her as their relationship continued and then it deteriorated in or around September/October 2021 when she got back together with an ex-boyfriend.
Police said Hanson made the threat against the Hard Rock business during a phone call with the victim.
According to the affidavit, the victim contacted police after Hanson emailed her, telling her he would be in Deerfield Beach and that if she didn’t respond to his email, “He knows what to do.”
Police said their investigation showed that Hanson had a pattern of behavior that put the victim in fear for her safety, including cyberstalking, making threats to harm her and making threats to divulge personal information about her if his demands were not met.
Police said one message sent to the victim by Hanson read, “Do you want Marina to destroy you tomorrow at day club? She will back off if I tell her to.”
According to the affidavit, a message sent to the victim’s friend by Hanson read, “Tell her I’m gonna f*** her s*** up if I don’t get an answer.”
Police said Hanson made good on his threat to release information about the victim, which caused a rift between her and her friends and family.
Police said the victim blocked Hanson’s number and social media accounts, but he just opened new social media accounts and created fake phone numbers to contact her.
He also hired an ex-boyfriend of the victim’s to represent him on any legal issues pertaining to this investigation, according to the affidavit.
Hanson is charged with one count of aggravated stalking with a credible threat.
As of Tuesday, he was no longer appearing in the jail database.
