MARGATE, Fla. – When Marianna De La Cruz went in for a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, she wasn’t expecting to give birth so soon.
“I had an induction scheduled for next week, but I had concerns, so I was evaluated and then everything went from there,” she said. “They told me I wasn’t going home and that I needed to be induced.”
De La Cruz told Local 10 News that on Thursday morning, her son Eden was born, a birthdate he happens to share with his mom.
“It didn’t hit me,” she said. “It still hasn’t hit me yet.”
Surprisingly, it was not the first time that De La Cruz had given birth before at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Margate on Jan. 4.
She also welcomed her daughter Jaylin into the world eight years ago on that same day.
De La Cruz, who now shares a birthday with two of her children, said Jaylin nicknamed her “birthday twinsie.”
“She loves it, but I try to make it the best for her,” she said.
De La Cruz said her daughter Jaylin is currently on a trip with her dad and has no idea her new baby brother also shares a birthday with her and their mom.
“I’m waiting to give her the surprise tomorrow when she gets here,” she said.
