Police: Man arrested after pistol-whipping Little Caesars employee during robbery

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A man was taken into custody after allegedly robbing a South Florida pizzeria.

It happened Saturday night at a Little Caesars located at 8902 Taft Street in Pembroke Pines.

According to police, 34-year-old Jake Ryan Lemanski entered the business dressed in all black clothes, block gloves and wearing a black ski mask on his face.

He pulled out a gun and pistol-whipped an employee while demanding cash, police said.

Pembroke Pines police officers on patrol nearby noticed the suspect speeding away from the scene and pursued, but Lemanski crashed into a median wall near the intersection of County Line Road and the Florida Turnpike, according to police.

The Little Caesars employee was not seriously injured, authorities said.

Lemanski was taken to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation but police said he was not injured in the crash. He was then taken to jail on charges of armed robbery with a firearm.
