BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Humane Society of Broward County joined Local 10 News Saturday in continuing its search to find loving, permanent homes for pets.
HSBC Vice President of Marketing Cherie Wachter introduced Elvis the Guinea pig to Local 10 viewers.
Wachter said Elvis was found at an Ikea in Broward County and given to the HSBC.
Wachter doesn’t know how old Elvis is and doesn’t really know about his past.
She said Guinea pigs do well in pairs and love fresh greens and certain fruits like apples.
She said Elvis can use some exercise, likes plastic toys, and run around in a play area.
Wachter also introduced Loki to Local 10 News viewers.
Loki is about 3 years old and understands commands in English and Spanish.
Wachter said Loki is good with kids 10 and older and needs a home with no cats, but if you have a dog, she encourages owners to schedule a dog meet at the HSBC.
Loki was given up by his previous owners who had no time for him.
Wacher says he loves getting pet and is sweet to others.
Wachter also spoke about the HSBC’s annual “Walk for the Animals” event where donations will go toward the well-being of animals looking for a home and any surgeries they may need.
The HSBC also said they are accepting toy donations for the animals to play with at the shelter.
There are many more dogs, cats, rabbits and furry friends up for adoption at the Humane Society of Broward County.
