FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 24-year-old Tamarac woman took her 4-month-old baby girl to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital with injuries consistent with child abuse, according to an arrest report.
According to jail records, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jamie Jean-Pierre on Friday on two counts of child neglect causing great bodily harm.
The BSO arrest report states said doctors determined Jean-Pierre’s daughter had multiple fractures that pointed to signs of child abuse.
Authorities allege that Jean-Pierre did not take the baby in for care until at least 18 hours after the injuries occurred.
She was being held in the Broward County jail on a $200,000 bond, according to online records.
