Police officers find Miami-Dade toddler in Palm Beach

MIAMI – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert on Wednesday morning after a two-year-old girl vanished in Miami-Dade County.

Soon after, the FDLE announced that Ava Gantt, who was last seen in the area of Southwest 157 Place and 80 Street, turned up in Palm Beach.

Ava was with her father, Dante Torres, 22, who was struggling with suicidal ideations, according to police. He had threatened to hurt himself but did not hurt Ava, police said.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
