FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police released chilling surveillance video Friday of an armed robbery suspect who they said shot a man to death in Fort Lauderdale nearly three months ago.

According to authorities, Fort Lauderdale police and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 12:15 a.m. Sept. 2, near the 2300 block of Northwest 16th Court.

Upon arrival, police said they found 22-year-old Allie Cadet, of Fort Lauderdale, on the ground suffering from gunshot injuries and transported him to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim may have been gambling with a group of unknown males near the stairwell area of the location before the shooting occurred, according to detectives.

Surveillance video shows the shooter and an additional suspect stealing Cadet’s money after he was shot, police said.

Police described the shooter as a tall, thin male wearing a black hoodie, gray pants and black slides.

The second suspect, who was also seen taking the victim’s money, is described as a tall, thin male, wearing a black hoodie, green pants with white stripes and tan slides.

Local 10 News spoke with the mother of the victim who said that Cadet was killed before his daughter was set to enter the world and wants justice.

“I’m just asking for help,” the woman said. “Anyone that wants to help, please help me find justice.”

She described her son as a kind man who always looked out for his loved ones.

“He’s my first one, my best friend. I’m not gonna say my favorite son because I have others, but he means everything to me,” the woman said.

Authorities said no arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the Fort Lauderdale Police Department at 954-828-5700 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Anyone with information that leads to an arrest or arrests is eligible for an award of up to $5,000.
