MIAMI – A group of attackers wore masks as they stabbed and hit their victim in Miami, but nearly two months later detectives have identified two suspects known as “Squid” and “Werm,” records show.
Henry “Werm” Tieles was 16 years old when detectives detained him at a public park in Little Havana, and he turned 17 years old on Dec. 14, while in the custody of Miami-Dade corrections.

Prosecutors are charging Tieles as an adult for the attempted murder. On Thursday, a bond court judge denied him bond and his defense attorney filed his written plea of not guilty.
Detectives were still investigating the vicious attack on Oct. 27, in eastern Little Havana’s Riverside area, north of West Flagler Street and west of downtown Miami, police said.
Miami Fire Rescue personnel reported finding a male bleeding on the sidewalk at about 3:50 a.m., at Northwest Seventh Avenue and First Street. He had suffered wounds on the back and upper torso, so they rushed him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
A few days later, detectives met with him at the trauma center where doctors and nurses had saved his life. The victim told them that he was standing on the northeast corner of the intersection when his attackers got out of a dark Kia, according to the arrest report.
Detectives later identified suspects and prepared a photo lineup. On Nov. 6, still at the hospital, the victim identified two suspects. He said Tieles had punched and kicked him and Daniel “Squid” Rosa had stabbed him, according to the arrest report.
Police officers found Tieles, then 16 years old, on Nov. 7, at Henderson Park, at 950 NW 3 St., in the Riverside area, and took him to a nearby police station for questioning. They arrested him after he refused to answer a detective’s questions, according to the police arrest report.
On Nov. 8, police officers arrested Rosa, who turned 18 in August. Prosecutors filed an attempted murder case against him on Nov. 14. His arraignment was on Dec. 8, and he pleaded not guilty.
Corrections released Rosa on a $7,500 bond under an order to stay away from the victim. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch is presiding over Rosa’s case.
Tieles’s arraignment hearing is at 9 a.m., on Dec. 26. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Michelle A. Delancy is presiding over his case.
Detectives were asking anyone with information about the attempted murder to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
