Deputies arrest gunman at Grand Hotel in Oakland Park

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Detectives were investigating a shooting during a standoff early Wednesday morning at a hotel in Broward County.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded shortly before 1 a.m., to the Grand Hotel, at 4900 NW 9 Ave., in Oakland Park, according to Carey Codd, a BSO spokesperson.

“Deputies set up a perimeter and, while on scene, multiple shots were fired out of a window at the hotel in the direction of deputies,” Codd wrote.

No one was shot. The gunman fired again at deputies before a SWAT team arrested him, according to Codd.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
