Fort Lauderdale shooting leaves teen hospitalized, police say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old girl hospitalized Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

It happened at a home near the 2900 block of Northwest 23rd Street.

Police said the victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center and her injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The victim or suspect involved in the incident has not been identified at this time.

Sky 10 flew over the scene where detectives were speaking with neighbors in the area.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
