BSO: Woman dead, man injured in Dania Beach drive-by shooting

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are investigating a drive-by shooting that left a woman dead and a man injured in Dania Beach Friday night, deputies said.

Authorities said 911 dispatchers received reports of a shooting around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 12th Avenue and Stirling Road.

BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene where they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to BSO Public Information Officer Gerdy St. Louis.

Authorities said the woman was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

According to detectives, preliminary investigation revealed the victims were sitting in a vehicle at a red light when another car pulled up and began shooting at the vehicle the victims were in.

Detectives haven’t released any information on the age or identity of the victims involved in the shooting.
