According to an arrest report, Thompson and the victim had been smoking marijuana and “Molly,” a street name for MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, at the teenager’s home in North Miami Beach early Sunday morning when Thompson told the girl he knew of a place in Sunny Isles Beach where he could purchase more marijuana. She agreed to follow him, police said.
According to police, at some point during the drive, the victim told police that she “blacked out” and woke up to Thompson choking her from behind.
Authorities said as he choked her, he then held a knife to her neck and forced her to take her clothes off. He then proceeded to rape her, police said.
Police said the assault took place in the area of Northeast 142nd Street and 16th Avenue in North Miami.
The arrest report states that when Thompson was done raping the girl, he “told her to get out of the vehicle and he drove away, leaving her on the side of the roadway.”
Authorities said they arrested Thompson at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and took him to the North Miami police station for questioning.
“While I was attempting to...arrest (Thompson), he became uncooperative and attempted to elude being arrested by fleeing on foot,” the report states. “After a short foot chase, he was apprehended.”
That earned Thompson a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge alongside felony charges of sexual battery of a victim between the ages of 12 and 17 and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Jail records initially showed Thompson being held at the Metro West Detention Center on a $16,000 bond. However, after appearing in court Wednesday, a Miami-Dade judge ordered Thompson remain held without bond.
