Surveillance video captures possibly deadly crash in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police are investigating a possibly deadly crash in Miami Gardens.

Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News captured it all Sunday night.

One witness told Local 10 that one vehicle was traveling northbound on Northwest Fifth Avenue as another vehicle was traveling eastbound on 188th Street, and plowed right through the stop sign.

Dramatic video captured the crash that appears to have turned deadly.

The two vehicles were left badly mangled and crews worked for much of the evening to tow them away.

According to one witness, it happened around 7 p.m. Sunday.

He said he ran to the silver sedan to try to help the driver out of the car, who was pinned against a tree.

But that man died shortly following the accident, according to the witness.

Police were seen questioning the three men in the black vehicle throughout the evening. One of them was later detained.

Police also scoured the grass where the two cars ended up.

Skid marks and debris were left behind as Miami Gardens police began their investigation.

No details about the crash were immediately released by police.
