MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach Police are accusing a man of observing celebrities displaying expensive jewelry on social media, knowing where they were staying and going after the goods.
Local 10 News has learned one of the victims was reality TV star Sam Logan.
Facing felony charges is 24-year-old Diego Sebastiani Estrada.
Accoring to Miami Beach police, the suspect used social media to track down a group of celebrities.
After finding their home, police said the suspect entered, with his face covered, and pointed a gun at one of the victim’s heads.
“The subject knew exactly who he was looking for and what he was looking for as well,” said Christopher Bess with Miami Beach Police.
Sebastiani demanded a $40,000 Rolex he had seen on one of the victim’s profiles.
He then allegedly made his getaway in a Range Rover belonging to one of the victims.
Miami Beach police used the vehicle’s GPS to track it down.
Sebastiani was arrested less than 24 hours after the incident.
“Be careful what you post on social media, who you follow, and who follows you,” said Bess.
Miami Beach Police eventually found the suspect at a Holiday Inn in Hialeah. He’s facing a total of four felony charges.
