After flyers torn down, Miami rabbi finds creative way to keep missing Israelis in spotlight

MIAMI – A Miami rabbi is taking action after a string of incidents where people were seen on video taking down flyers posted to raise awareness for the plight of Israelis missing and believed to be kidnapped after Hamas’ attack.

Rabbi Chaim Lipskar, of the Rok Family Shul in the city’s Brickell neighborhood, put up projections on Miami buildings showing information contained in the posters.

“The reaction was overwhelmingly positive,” Lipskar said. “Everyone was posting and reposting it and everyone was really excited that this was a sign that couldn’t be brought down. We’re standing up and we’re not going to allow it to happen again.”

Lipskar just got back from Israel; he brought over supplies to a congregant. He also toured the homes of those murdered and kidnapped.

“We pray for every single hostage and we want to show the world, as well, how important is to bring these hostages home,” he said.

He said the projection is symbolic of the fact that the Jewish people will be here “forever.”

“No one will ever be able to silence the Jewish people and Jewish people are resilient,” Lipskar said.
